Band × rider: spot anthems
Skate videos made a lot of people find their favorite bands. Band × rider is a plain way to make that happen on purpose: bands say which tracks riders can use, riders ask for the one that fits, and both get paid when the clip earns.
Early access. The band and rider profiles on LOOSE right now are examples. We show waveforms only and don't host audio. Bands share their own link to wherever their music already lives.
Two ways in
- Bands: offer your track. Tell us the track, where it lives (Bandcamp, your site, wherever), what it fits (skate, surf, snow, BMX) and the split you want. You must own the rights or have your bandmates' OK.
- Riders and filmers: find a soundtrack. Browse the tape wall, or describe your clip and the feel you want, and we'll pass it to bands who fit.
Spot anthems and crew series
A track doesn't have to be a one-off. A band's song can become the anthem of a spot (the ditch, the local bowl, the break your crew surfs) or the theme of a crew's ongoing series. When gear or merch is tagged in those clips, the band and the riders share what it earns.
The split
LOOSE takes 10% off the top. The band and the riders decide the rest between them: band-heavy, even, or rider-heavy, and the filmer gets a share too. The calculator on the band × rider page shows the exact numbers before anyone agrees to anything.
Ground rules
- Only offer music you have the rights to. Covers and samples need their own clearance.
- Credit the band in every clip, every time.
- No fake hype: there are no play counts, likes or follower numbers on LOOSE.
