All-ages punk in Long Beach: where the kids get in
Most Long Beach punk nights happen in bars, which means 21+. A few spaces do let everyone in, and this guide covers them and how to check a bill before you show up.
Age policies are set per show. Always check the specific listing or ticket page. This guide reflects public listings and press as of October 2026.
All-ages spaces
Toxic Toast Theatre
755 Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA 90813 (next to Toxic Toast Records, 757 Pine Ave)
The Long Beach Post profiled it as a dedicated all-ages, alcohol-free venue attached to a punk-centric record shop. It's a roughly 350-capacity room booking punk, hardcore, folk-punk and more. Get there early and dig through the record bins before doors.
DiPiazza's
5205 Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach, CA 90804
This is a long-running Long Beach institution that books local bands. Some of its shows are explicitly all-ages, like a free all-ages punk matinee listed for April 2026. Look for "all ages" on the individual listing.
Record-store sets
Local record shops have hosted occasional all-ages in-store performances. Fingerprints is one example the Long Beach Post mentions. They're daytime, free or cheap, and a good first show.
Heads up: 21+ rooms
Alex's Bar (2913 E Anaheim St) is a beloved punk bar, but its venue page says 21 and over, no exceptions. That includes its weekend matinees. Don't count on a matinee being all-ages anywhere until you've checked the listing.
How to find this week's all-ages bills
- Follow the venues' own Instagram and ticket pages. Flyers often go up there first.
- Search a listings site such as Songkick or your ticketing app for the venue, then open each event and read its age policy.
- Ask at the record store counter. Flyers for house shows and DIY gigs usually end up there.
- Going to your first one? Read our first punk show guide.
Make a day of it
